We are renting a unit for our daughter through Attree Real Estate, who is currently studying at UWA, and Brian Collins our property manager.
A few weeks ago when the storm came through the South West, Le-hanè our daughter rang us late on a Sunday night, and in a very distressed voice told us there is water streaming through the roof, smoke alarm and french doors, and the whole living area in the apartment is under water.
There was a lot of drama, with neighbours helping her to move her furniture and electrical cords away from the water and then we had to arrange for alternative accommodation as the unit was unsafe and without electricity.
The next day, we contacted Brian, and he notified the Strata and the owner.
As a over-protective mother away from her daughter and not in Perth, I contacted Brian more than once a day and he must have at some stage almost gone mad, but I was impressed as to how he handles to whole situation.
Brian was taking our calls every single time, and responded to my emails in a timely manner.
There was a few issues with the Strata Company, and with their contractors, and after almost a week of phone calls and emails to Brian and the Strata, the Strata Company send out a contractor who decided they will have to replace the leaking French Doors.
We knew this would take a couple of weeks, so when I told Brian our daughter has to come down to Bunbury for for a couple of days for her Dad's 50th and we are worried that if it rains while she is away, no-one will be home to mop the floors if the unit is flooded again.
Needless to say, the Strata Company did not make any effort to make a plan, but Brian went to the unit and sealed the French Doors with tape we are assuming he bought and paid out of his own pocket.
Brian sealed the doors and did a very good job so much so that when it rained that night there were NO traces of rain coming through the door and Le-hanè felt at ease to come to Bunbury and leave her unit the following day.
Myself and my husband would like to bring under your attention that Brian assist us in anyway he could, he kept us up to date as to what the Strata's response was on a daily basis, and his professionalism during that difficult period showed.
We greatly appreciate for what he has done, and would like you to pass our gratitude on to Brian.
